Students in third grade scan QR codes to locate information about the animals in the 5 Georgia Habitats. This week is research week.
Professor Quakers hatched during school in Mrs. Daly's Science Lab last year. Mrs. Bright was there to help him out of the shell. He spent the summer with Nurse Sierzant. Last Friday, he spent the day in the science lab. In the morning he waddled down to visit Mrs. Glover's pre-k class and decided to join in with Mrs. Phillip's class. The students loved seeing how much he had grown and how loud Professor Quacker can quack! First graders are learning about the weather and especially wind in Science Lab. Students built their schooners with index cards, straws, and different shaped sails. Then they tested them by seeing how many breaths it took for the boat to sail one meter. They recorded their data in graph form. Next they got to redesign and make a better sail for their boat using information from the graph to guide their decision.
